The Irish government has provided reduced fees for higher education for Ukrainian students and allows them to be to study in Ireland under European fees.

According to the Minister of Higher Education, Simon Harris, Ukrainian citizens would also be entitled to grants for students and other assistance, such as classes at language centers to those who require this, visaoperations.com reports.

"My Department, as well as the Government and our sector, will do all we can to help and welcome students from Ukraine and also provide assistance in the form of English classes in the local communities." Harris captioned his tweet. Twitter.

He also mentioned that the possibility of a "personalized assessment" will be made available to new Ukrainians to assist to find work that is suited to their qualifications and skills.

Following a discussion in which he met with EU commissioner Mariya, Harris said that it is crucial for Ukrainian students to be able to access education during this time and that the government was prepared to implement any EU decision to assist students in their education.

Additionally to this, The Irish Federation of University Teachers (IFUT) demanded that colleges and universities in Ukraine provide assistance to researchers, students, or lecturers who are from Ukraine.

The federation recommended that academics and researchers temporarily be able to work in their specializations initially for a year. Similar options are needed for pupils, the Federation recommends allowing Ukrainian student to pursue their education within Ireland "until the point that circumstances in Ukraine improve to an acceptable level of stability and security".

In the past, it was reported that the Hungarian government had announced that it was striving to provide housing, jobs as well as school spaces for Ukrainian students, while the country in the war zone is now open to over 104,000 people seeking refuge after when it came to the Russian invasion.
