EUAA Releases Report on EU's Rapid Response to Assist Displaced Peoples from Ukraine

On March 4, the European Union Asylum Agency published a Situational update on the war in Ukraine. It describes the quick response actions of the European Union (EUAA), and its Member State to provide shelter and protection for more than one million Ukrainian citizens already displaced from their homeland.

According to a press release, EUAA issued the same report on the same day. The Situation Update provides key information about the current measures taken by visaoperations.com to assist people who have been forced to flee Ukraine because of the worsening situation.

This update is also being updated regularly in line with the changing of the situation.

"While mobilizing resources to assist the forcibly displaced in Ukraine and neighboring countries, UNHCR designated Ukraine a "Level 3 emergency" - the highest available level - because it estimates that more than 1 million refugees have fled to neighboring countries since February 24, 2022," reads the statement.

These countries have adopted these measures in an urgent procedure to provide immediate support for Ukrainian citizens living in EU countries.

Austrian authorities say that in the absence of a biometric passport, Austria can issue a Visa at any of the embassies located in Ljubljana, Bratislava, or at the Consulate General, Munich. It will also give those who have not obtained a visa 90 days to get it fixed.

Estonia is the same. Ukrainian citizens are allowed to enter Estonia without visas upon a decision by the General Director of PBGB.

Furthermore, EU+ countries have removed Ukraine from their national lists of safe countries of origin. This means that Ukrainians can enter their territory without needing to show proof of protection. They will automatically be protected.
