The European Union authorities are considering placing restrictions on the Serb regime in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the event that the crisis is not resolved in the Balkan country does not improve.

It was announced that proposed restriction plans will be considered later in the month at a meeting that will take place in Brussels.

With regard to the present situation with regard to the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EU officials have suggested that the responsible authorities issue travel restrictions on representatives in Bosnia's independent Serb Republic if its leader, Milorad Dodik, takes any action that could harm the country.

Additionally, according to Reuters the report also states that it has been suggested to have the wealth of affected individuals be frozen in the event that they or Bosnian Serb politicians seek to be able to take power away from the central government. The authorities have noted that sanctions can be expanded to include additional restrictions, but they'll remain an option of last resort at present.

The idea of introducing restrictive measures, like asset freezes and travel bans, follows the actions of lawmakers from the Serb Republic. On the 10th of February, the Serb Republic approved the formation of a separate body that will be used for the election of jurors and prosecutors, exiled from Bosnia's judiciary institution.

Dodik, the leader of the Serb Republic, Dodik, was previously warned of officials from the United States as its regime threatened the Federation. Dodik has been previously indicted of corruption by authorities from the US Treasury Department of corruption and of threatening the stability territorial of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Reuters also revealed that the German government has already made a call for restrictions to be imposed on the Bosnian Serb leader, Dodik. However, officials from Hungarian authorities have claimed that the restrictions are detrimental since the EU is seeking to integrate all Balkan nations into the 27-nation union.

Since the conclusion of the Balkan conflicts that occurred in the late 1990s, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been experiencing its most severe political turmoil. Since the Bosnian Serbs have been defying Bosnia's institutions as part of their efforts to secession and be a part of Serbia.

Despite ongoing political conflicts, Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the countries which has faced an increase in the flow of migrants. To help the migrants staying within Bosnia and Herzegovina it was the European Union Commission provided a EUR2.5 million money fund.

It was discovered that the fund will be used primarily to assist migrants, specifically minors and children who are not protected.
