Elliot Page, Umbrella Academy's Elliot Page, discusses transitioning and calls out people's obsession with binary

Elliot Page, who stars in The Umbrella Academy's Season 3, spoke candidly about being "proud to introduce his transgender character Viktor" on the show during a recent interview with Seth Meyers. The actor who was transgender last summer also shared his personal journey of transitioning and how his closest friends reacted.

It wasn't an easy road to come out, but Page shared how he is focusing on himself now. He said that he feels a great deal of joy and presence, and that it has made him feel like something he had never experienced before. Elliot also discussed dealing with negative comments. He said that it was "unfortunate because it's like we're all in the same team here."

He added, "You know that regardless of whether you're trans or non-binary, gender-non-conforming, or cis, all of us have these expectations, these kind of constraints, because of sort people's obsession about the binary and how our lives should be lived."

Elliot stated that he was happy with the way his character, Viktor Hargreeves, was introduced in The Umbrella Academy. Fans also praise the scene that Viktor and his siblings came out of, and the way the show's creators handled it. On June 22, The Umbrella Academy launched its third season, which consisted of ten episodes.
