Nearly 147,000 Ukrainians fleeing conflict in Ukraine have been registered in Germany as of the moment following Russia's military incursion which began on February 24.

It is reported that German Federal Minister of Interior Nancy Faeser has announced that more than 2300 Technical Relief Agency (THW) volunteers have already moved into Germany to assist women, children, and men who left the conflict in Ukraine to relocate to Germany.

In a press statement that was released on the 13th of March of this year by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI), Foreign Minister Faeser expressed gratitude to the municipal and federal state assistants and a variety of other organizations for their dedication and solidarity in Ukraine, visaoperations.com reports.

In this respect Minister Faeser declared that Ukrainian refugees must receive aid promptly and in a comprehensive manner, noting that there is a huge effort from the federal government as well as the state government, as well as the local authorities to aid in this area.

"It is now a question of providing the highest possible assistance, shelter, and distribution to the refugees. The federal government has given the local authorities and states huge support in this regard together in conjunction with federal police and federal officials, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, and a host of other Supporters from the Technical Relief Agency," she added.

According to BMI BMI, 148 volunteers are posted in Berlin to run electricity, create shelters for emergency situations, and also transport medical facilities.

On the 11th of March the 11th, a relief vehicle arrived via THW that had mattresses and sleeping blankets in Moldova.

Additionally to that, in Poland, Romania, and Moldova, THW volunteers are stationed along with reconnaissance teams to ensure supplies.

"Since March 3rd, THW has brought seven aid vehicles for Ukraine across the border between Poland and Ukraine including medical supplies generators, hygiene kits First aid supplies, as well as other supplies for the relief of victims,the statement reads.

The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community has also announced that, as of March 14, the number of Ukrainian refugees had risen to nearly 147,000.

Additionally, Germany started an initiative to move 2500 Ukrainians who are currently in Moldova.

It was announced that the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared this on the 12th of March following a meeting between the Minister and the Minister's German partner Annalena Bareback.

However, all Ukrainian citizens traveling to Germany are not required to pay for their tickets since the Polish state-owned firm PKP has declared that it will offer free tickets to travelers heading to Germany.

According to the firm, Ukrainian refugees are allowed to travel at no cost with the second class of nine daily trains which are able to connect Polish cities Warsaw, Przemysl, and Gdynia with the German capital Berlin and Frankfurt.

Furthermore, European countries that have offered their homes to large numbers of refugees fleeing conflict in Ukraine include Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, and Romania.
